Score one workflow idea
Give each line 0, 1, or 2 points. Write one piece of evidence next to each score. If you do not know, mark it unknown instead of guessing.
| Criterion | Question to investigate | Score |
|---|---|---|
| Repeats often | How often does this task happen in the buyer's normal work? | 0 / 1 / 2 |
| Visible friction | Can the buyer point to time, delay, rework, or inconsistency? | 0 / 1 / 2 |
| Buyer is reachable | Can you speak with the person who owns or approves the work? | 0 / 1 / 2 |
| Inputs are authorized | Can the buyer provide safe, approved inputs for a test? | 0 / 1 / 2 |
| Output is checkable | Can a qualified person judge whether the result is useful and correct? | 0 / 1 / 2 |
| Pilot can be bounded | Can you limit the first test by examples, time, or task scope? | 0 / 1 / 2 |
| Human review is clear | Is there a named person who will review or approve the output? | 0 / 1 / 2 |
| Risk is manageable | Can you protect sensitive data and decide what happens if something fails? | 0 / 1 / 2 |
Total: ____ / 16
Use the score as a sorting prompt
- 13-16: A candidate worth validating. Check each unknown with a buyer before building.
- 8-12: Narrow the buyer, task, or pilot; gather evidence for the weak areas.
- 0-7: Park this version or choose a workflow you can understand and test more safely.
This is a planning aid, not a validated market score. Interest in AI does not replace evidence about a buyer, authorized data, delivery quality, or risk.
Run a seven-day validation sprint
- Day 1 - Choose one workflow. Name the buyer, task, and biggest unknown.
- Day 2 - Map today's process. Record the trigger, approved input, steps, output, reviewer, and friction.
- Day 3 - Make a safe example. Use synthetic or approved data; show the human review and one edge case.
- Day 4 - Learn from buyers. Ask how the task happened recently before presenting your idea.
- Day 5 - Narrow the offer. Define one deliverable, exclusions, review owner, and test boundary.
- Day 6 - Ask for feedback. Show the pilot outline and ask what seems useful, risky, or unclear.
- Day 7 - Decide. Go, narrow, or park the idea, and record the evidence and the next unresolved risk.
Keep the first demonstration safe
- Use synthetic or permissioned data. Do not upload a client's information to a tool without approval.
- Show where a person reviews output and what happens when the output fails a check.
- Keep sensitive, financial, health, safety, or customer-impacting decisions under qualified human review.
- Describe only the work you can actually deliver.
